Guitarist and songwriter Nick Kizirnis covers some ground, from Americana to pop, rock’n’roll to experimental music.

Nick's latest single “Everything” dropped August 9th. A song about betrayal and trying too hard long after all hope is lost, the track features Tobin Sprout (Guided by Voices) on keyboards, Jim Macpherson (The Breeders, Guided by Voices) on drums, Daisy Caplan (Foxy Shazam, Lung) on bass, Tod Weidner on guitar and singer/cellist Kate Wakefield (Lung). “Everything” is from Nick's May 2024 solo album Every Moment.

Nick's music builds upon and goes beyond his influences, including Link Wray, The National, Guided By Voices and Neko Case. Visit Nick online and check out the official video for "Everything".

Spotlight On: What is your first memory of music?

Nick Kizirnis: Hearing Duane Eddy on my parent's record player. My Dad had all of his early singles and he played them all the time, along with the early Elvis RCA singles.

SO: What instrument(s) can you play?

NK: I'm primarily a guitarist, but I also play theremin. I dabble on bass, banjo and steel guitar but I have a long way to go.

SO: What song, album or artist never gets old for you?

NK: Television, Marquee Moon...I just listened to it the other day and it still sounds incredible.

SO: What music do you and your significant other disagree about?

NK: My wife Kathi does not go for any country music, so she really misses out on the '40's to 60's artists like Hank Williams, Hank Snow, all the Hanks really...and of course Buck Owens. While I have a lot of respect for Willie and Dolly, I start to trail off with the early 70's country music.
